Let Them Eat........Cookies

Yes, you read correctly.  These are the kind of cookies you want your kids to eat.  The only problem is, they were almost gone before I could take a photo of them!

I soaked some millet, using half for a delicious, nutritious cereal for yesterday's breakfast.  With the rest, I made delicious cookies.  Lightly crunchy on the outside, soft & chewy on the inside, these banana cookies were a hit, sweetened with nature's own honey.

So simple!

Add Some Heat to Your Winter

On a cold Shabbos night, add some heat to your seuda by serving Morrocan fish.  Many prepare this dish with Tilapia, but my hubby loves it with Salmon.  In addition to the benefit of Omega-3's, salmon also has been found to help with inflammation of the digestive tract & joints, as well as osteoporosis, via a protein called calcitonin.  Read it up.

 "Eish katan, harbeh zman," is what I always say (low flame, a lot of time).  

Stick with the fresh stuff and your seasonings will blow them away on taste.

Tell 'em to take a number, because they'll be waiting in line for these.  A new spin on a traditional favorite, this is peanut butter and jelly with a healthier twist.  Use your favorite natural peanut butter and pair it with your choice of marmalade, and settle them in between two slices of millet instead of white bread.  Packed with protein, this was a natural combination with millet's slightly nutty flavor.

I had to give up my piece to a wide-open eyed child who scooped it right up.  Healthy, Delicious, that's the way to go, or in the words of the wide-open eyed child:  "yummissimo, buonissimo, funissimo!"  Can't beat that.

The Good Life

What a beautiful morning!  A simply divine breakfast, nature's goodness, in a snap.  As you know, Sunday, I made a 3-day batch of granola (I store it in the fridge), so with the almost-last serving, I sprinkled it on fresh-cut pineapple.  Say with emphasis: Dee-lish!
Folks, get your food game on, keep it good, keep it real, keep it unprocessed.  All kosher, all the time.  We're talkin' good stuff here........for your taste buds and your bod & soul!

Honestly we were very blessed we found two restaurants I would definitely be a regular at if I were a local. One was called GAM GAM Kosher Restaurant. It's located at the main entrance of the Jewish Ghetto. I had fresh grilled veggies and Jackie had veggies with couscous. The hummus was delicious!"

"Excellent Hebrew and Jewish cuisine and nice service. We can absolutely recommend the israeli starters (9,80 €). It’s just a fantastic tour of taste with I think about 10 or more different delicious little things to try plus Falafel. Also the fried artichokes are really good! Lemonade and ice tea is home made and also worth to try! In addition to that here are a bit less tourists and you can sit in front of the waterside. Prices are quite normal to low price. If you come by waterbus just hop off the boat at “Guglie”, head just a few meters to the right and enjoy the wonderful food :) Just want something cheap on the go: ask for the GAM-GAM take away just around the corner with fantastic pizza and little things filled with sweet or savoury (vegetables) stuff."
